25 years ago, Pokémon Gold & Silver dropped, and changed everything. Day/night cycles, breeding, 100 new Pokémon, and an entire second region after beating the game. It wasn’t just a sequel, it set the standard for what Pokémon could be.

@MechaKittn Most replies I skimmed through seem to overlook: Allied Society quests [formerly "Beast Tribes"] Special FATE bosses that spawn [like Odin, Ixion, etc.] under special conditions If you're hoping for a WoW zombie plague or "Deathwing nukes stuff," you'll be disappointed.

I'm still in Heavensward, but does the open-world content get better in later #FFXIV expansions, or is it basically just FATEs?

@Trixdeee That's cool; but it should never really be an issue if they just made stances permanent for the tank classes/jobs.

🔥☢️Hot Take☢️🔥 Whenever a player has a Tank class or Tank job stone equipped, that player should have "stance" on PERMANENTLY. It should be literally baked into the code so that there's never an issue with being synced to lower level content. This is my hill. #FFXIV

If Yoshida really wants to "rethink everything," he should start with the base group composition being 5 players. 1 tank, 1 healer, 3 DPS. It would mean adjusting how much damage spells do to enemies, how much health enemies have, etc. But honestly, I think #FFXIV would benefit.

Healers are forced to juggle healing & do DPS bc #FFXIV group design is based on a 4-man dungeon group, not 5 like Warcraft. I've grudgingly accepted that I need to DPS when I do heal- but I don't ENJOY being FORCED to do so bc of group design. I'd prefer to focus on HEALING.

Further: If your higher level difficulty fight is so tightly tuned that a Tank should feel forced to remove "stance" at all bc NEED MORE DPS RAWR, then that higher level difficulty needs TWEAKING. Tanks should be able to focus on TANKING, not making up for poor balancing. #FFXIV
