But then, once in a lifetime, a long forward tidal wave of justice can rise up and hope and history can rhyme… we believe in our democracy. Today, I joined the Irish American Partnership for it’s 30th annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast in Chicago to celebrate the deep bonds between our two nations. More than 31 million Americans claim Irish heritage—I am proud to be one of them—and America has been enriched immeasurably by their contributions.
