If you're still in a romantic mood from valentines day, you should check out my short story "Lovers of the Lunar Coast." It is a high fantasy romance that I am certain you will enjoy! Please make sure to leave a review! a.co/d/1q1ivii

@MaskedHottiee To go into septic shock. Their behavior discouraged me from taking the ambulance and I just had them help me to my car for my fiancée to take me to the ER. Get there and RR in the 40s, BP 65/dead, hr still in the 180s-190s and a 102 temp. But it was just anxiety. To top it off-

I had a POTS flare and I couldn't get out of the bath. I was alone so I had to call EMT's to help me get out. I was naked. They laughed at me. My HR was 178. One told another I was feeling a little anxious. The most humiliating experience of my life

Hey doctors! Maybe it’s not “white coat syndrome”causing that high BP. Perhaps it’s the fact that you had the patient sprint down the hall, sit down, and immediately answer 15 questions while you’re taking their vitals. All to stay on schedule for that 15 minute visit.

On my best days I feel like I have a really bad flu, and on my worst days I'm literally almost dying because my body cant fight off infections anymore. Most days are somewhere in the middle, but I haven't had a day where I wasnt acutely aware Im sick in two years.

Id give just about anything to stop being sick. I used to run, do martial arts, hike and so much more. Now I can barely get to the living room without passing out or nearly falling. Between the pain and the exhaustion its hard to tell which is worse.

how does one talk about their detrimental + severe disability which affects their whole life without seeming like they're trauma dumping? its not a trauma dump, its my everyday reality

It’s so hard to feel medically burned out and have to continue seeking medical care.

@IsabelleRayza I think it’s also important to think about what disabled people can imagine and build for each other outside of these harmful systems to help us survive…In ways that preserve our function and don’t require destroying a person’s health faster/further.

Over-confidence / misogyny / self-importance of healthcare professionals is a real problem, and it would appear that there is little appetite by medical professionals to discuss this issue publicly.

@ErinSandersNP I dedicated everything i had to that hospital through covid and everything, and they dropped me like trash. Ive experienced it and am not afraid of it happening again. Loss of function does scare me, because sometimes I truly dont know how much function there is left to lose.

@ErinSandersNP Kept messing up my paperwork to the point where when I ran out of fmla I would get written up for not going to work, or get written up for going to work because I had less than a days notice to get my return to work form to them, when I didn't even think I'd need it for a month.

@ErinSandersNP Either working in healthcare or being too sick to work. Im young so that doesn't mean its the most time in the world, but it was time enough to see how much harm poor care can cause and how much of a boon quality care is.

@ErinSandersNP I think I may of phrased myself poorly. If im honest over the last few years I've decided *I* at the very least do not of the ability nor endurance to make systemic change, but im happy enough with being able to change people's lives for the better. My adult life has been spent-

Doctors aren't gaslighting you! Sometimes they just can't find out what's wrong! It sucks but that's how medicine works.
John Doe the cynic@Christi89439864

@awgaffney So instd we should turn to drs who either gaslight us or don’t know what to do or wait decades for answers while arrogant pricks like you sit in the ivory tower and bless us with their takes instead of doing actual work of finding answer/helping patients? Fuck that. And fuck you.

@ErinSandersNP Whose needs and concerns would be disregarded by another provider and I am able to be there instead. To believe them and to provide proper care, then it's worth it to me. Its a bit naive and optimistic of me I know, but truly I'd push myself into the grave if it meant one person-
