Unbelievably Stirling district council who have been causing huge problems for our customers/delivery vans with a road closure on the b8034 / poor signage ( building a pavement to nowhere) Have burst a water main and now our restaurant has no water & no one can tell us when it will get fixed? @StirlingCouncil

PUPDATE: Skipper, the Cocker puppy we found abandoned at Christmas, gave us a fright today. After a rush hour escape, he twice scampered across our fairly busy street before romping home. A bit shaken up by his derring do, he needed cuddles from "Mum" - our 2-yr-old Lab, Luna

Highly recommended find in the @TheCelticHouse bookshop in Bowmore. It's a bittersweet memoir of growing up as the son of a head gardener at Dunlossit Estate that is quite lyrical at times, but does does not sidestep what a cruel place Islay was only a couple of generations ago
