@Lunayian i’ve been trying to do the manual software update for 2.1 and it downloads but when i go to check it out in headset im still in v85, do you know if a workaround for this? Don’t really want to factory reset

One major annoyance of mine that is fixed in Horizon OS 2.1 is that if you put a window in Focus View, there now seems to be a normalized volume for the Spatial Audio. Previously, Focus/Theater View would move windows further away with no compensation, making movies very quiet.

Meta does seem to be (re?) starting work on this MR version of the window pinning feature, separate from the existing Anchor feature. If it ships. it will likely be called Window Magnetism or Sticky Windows.

I have so many balls in the air right now 🤣. Between the YouTube channel and working on content for that, working on my VR game, writing my novel. Or should I say finishing the rewrite and prepping it for publishing, and everything else going on? It feels like everyday is very full. 😅

@VRCatalans @GabRoXR If you have a mac i don’t believe they intend on releasing the ultra wide at all for that :( (i have a mac)

@ItsMetaVR @GabRoXR still dont have the ultrawide mode on the remote desktop and it's been like a year since they added it. This way of launching the features is messed up

Typing was NOT the most surprising part of the surface keyboard pushed in #MetaQuest latest update. Let me start by telling you how to try it yourself (available only on Quest 3) 1- On your phone, open the Meta Horizon app. 2- Go to Devices and select your headset 3- Tap Headset settings, then tap Advanced settings. 4- Tap the toggle next to Public Test Channel to join Meta Quest PTC (Public Test Channel) 5- After go in the headset settings > experimental features > surface keyboard ⌨️ Typing felt very responsive but what caught me off guard was the touchpad. 🖱️Even when looking straight at the screen the cursor moves accurately as if you are using an actual trackpad. Tapping acts as a click and it just works. ✌️ It also responds to the scrolling motion using 2 Fingers!

@ItsMetaVR I'm sure the base will stay like the old system I just meant linking up with horizon will be home and I hope they streamline the current system so it's easier.

Boz sat down with Alex Heath for an interview and said the reason for the layoffs was that VR was growing less quickly than they hoped and he also mentioned Horizon as almost exclusively being mobile moving forward and hinted that they are moving away from Horizon in VR in total.n in my opinion that likely means we will see Horizon as a whole go away and the "Metaverse" vision of Horizon OS being the social backbone of Quest going away. Hopefully that means we see a better and more streamlined social system exclusive to Quest and meant for VR. This year could be a very interesting year if they actually start to pull away from Horizon in VR and shift focus to creating a platform with a better and more intuitive OS and UI that doesn't rely on the Metaverse horizon vision.
