What an abhorrent judgment by the FCC! Calling a minor a WOMAN!!! The constitution of Pakistan clearly states "Nothing in this Article shall prevent the State from making any special provision for the protection of women and children." This means if there is ever ambiguity the law must err on the side of caution—PROTECTING A MINOR. Yet the court used "Her physical appearance before the court also suggested a more advanced age." to grant this verdict—both a breach of constitutional rights and science! What a vile thing to base your decision on! As if girls have not been threatened/coached by men in child marriages in this country before! Why is it always that every time we see a case of possible forced conversion/child marriage our courts ALWAYS find ways to side AGAINST protecting minorities? Are they not aware of how inefficient the system is which has made it very common in (rural) Pakistan for there to be a lack/delay/discrepancy in documentation. If the child's age cannot be proved, they should still be removed from that situation and time should be given for that child to reach adulthood beyond the shadow of a doubt and then decide for themself without undue influence!
