Ed Cohen had done an entire WCW touring schedule, the angle started with Linda McMahon catching Vince with his pants down with Torrie Wilson to lead to an on-screen divorce angle where Linda was to get control of Raw and give it to WCW owner Shane. On Monday night after Tacoma I told a WWF VP Vince was going to change his mind, and was told no chance that could happen. The next day or Wednesday Cohen told me the WCW project was dead and he has to rebook 18 months worth of dates. Other execs let me know later that day.

Would’ve been easy the way they themselves set it up. You have Jacob win the chamber, Cody still beats Drew on TV for the belt, and you run Cody/Jacob Falls Count Anywhere at Mania and build off of the awesome SNME brawl. The anti Cody that are fatigued by him could’ve had a new ascending talent to root for and you’d have gotten a match that hadn’t been done a million times.
