If you ultimately replace the homegrown nucleus in a football team it’s harder to insitill a better culture or preserve an existing one You end up in a no man’s land in between. From a development perspective no pathway or direction to follow is a bad thing

And Lisci’s final point- globalism in football Foreign players playing in your league will never be a bad thing as long as it doesn’t block the opportunities for native players Everybody wants to see local players - from the city- do well because fans can identify with them

Italy & England share a lot of the same problems (despite popular belief) regarding youth development & pathway for coaches that didn’t play professionally Lisci had to leave Italy to coach at a professional level It’s probably best that English coaches do the same
