The sixth element of support is...actual SUPPORT! What steps can administrators do to support coaching within schools? 🔍Clarify & maintain focus 👀 Recognize the coach’s efforts 🙌 Support the coach’s ongoing professional growth 🧠 Create a psychologically safe environment

The fourth element of support is confidentiality. When you breach confidentiality, there's a danger that people won't be open. To establish trust, leaders and coaches must be consistent & clear about their confidentiality policy.

The first element of support is theoretical consistency.🧠 At its core, this means teachers and leadership sharing a deep understanding of their mission to create real change for students. In order for this to happen, change must begin with the decision-makers in schools.

The second element of support is understanding what coaches do. Real change happens through deep coaching with actionable goals and strategies. To have the greatest impact on students, leadership & coaches need to share an understanding of what the outcome of coaching should be.

The third element of support is role clarity. How do administrators give the coach feedback? How do teachers know what to ask coaches for? How do coaches have conversations regarding outcomes with administrators? The answer to all of these questions = role clarity.
