@BlakeCallagha14 I would agree. Too much skill all the time. Not enough team play. Summer tournaments with super teams. Player never learn to play different roles. Always need to be on a winning team instead of learning new ways to play the game.

I am now starting to challenge that decision. Skill coaches have ruined hockey. Our Canadian players no longer compete. We as coaches have let our players down. We spend so much time on skill development we no longer teach the game. We do not teach or young players to battle.

I hired a U 13 coach and told him to teach our payers to pass, skate, shoot. I did not care if our team won as long as every player improved. He did that and I will be ever be grateful and I hope the players and parents are also.
