Very pleased to share that I'll be presenting the "Beyond Hurwicz" paper this June at the 2026 Conference on Mechanism and Institution Design in York. Very much looking forward -- CMID is a proper economics conference and the paper is on how distributed consensus mechanisms are a special subclass of circular (self-referential mechanisms -- similar to the Penrose Staircase from Inception) -- and how this specific class can achieve outcomes by leveraging forms of information that cannot be informationally represented using the kinds of tools that are used to study "revelation-equivalent" mechanisms, and which are the source of many impossibility results defining the limits of economic security in distributed systems. Right now it looks like I'll have a night in London on June 20th, and then a trip up to York by train on the 21st. Am thinking of staying somewhere near King's Cross Station. If anyone is in town and wants to grab a beer or something on the 20th feel welcome to hit me up.
