@JazzTheJourno It wasn’t, no. I’ve never suggested that wasn’t the case with wider football twitter. In terms of Morecambe fans though, it was all about the results, the performances & the morale at the club. There wasn’t any ulterior motive and I think it’s disingenuous to suggest that.

@JakeEnglish_ It wasn't his record which got that Elon algorithm attention mate. If it was about records, show me where the manager's of Brackley and Truro went viral too. That's what is being ignored here. The elephant in the room. Not a Morecambe issue, but it influenced Morecambe fans.

Morecambe lose again. No win in three and pretty much the same standard Ashvir Singh Johal had the team at, but football twitter will still create a viral post when they win next about how sh1t Johal was as manager. Undoubtedly, he got extra hate because of his Sikh appearance.

@JazzTheJourno Morecambe fans had little to do with that really. Those tweets were being pushed by Elon’s algorithm and getting millions of views, normally our posts get views in the thousands. Most managers with the record he had would’ve been sacked sooner tho, & that brought extra attention

@JazzTheJourno Insinuating that I have hatred on a personal level for Ashvir or Sikhs generally just because I don’t particularly rate him as a football manager is quite frankly ridiculous, and I’d expected a bit more of an intelligent and reasonable take from a journalist/writer.

@JazzTheJourno The team is of the same standard because it’s the players that Johal brought in, & aren’t up to the task. With respect, I have watched the vast majority of Morecambe games this season, I assume you have not. Everyone wanted Ash to succeed but ultimately he utterly failed.

Tell you what really fucks me off aswell. Azeez getting himself booked needlessly time and time again. 10th of the season and i'd go as far as saying 8 of them are for petty pathetic fouls. The thing is he can't be trusted on a yellow. Can't wait to see the back of these players.

@harrison_d55849 @MorecambeFC Yeah been terrible performances the last few games. Was slightly worse results under Ash but doesn’t matter now really. Need a clean slate, new manager and new players. These experienced players have massively underperformed for 2 managers now and need a lot more of the blame.

Just a point here for those going at them for using AI. The disconnect between clubs and their foundations is massive I’ve found. Getting a player to do things for a community trust/foundation is next to impossible.
