I love small towns. Especially the people in them. Maybe because I grew up in one & as the daughter of a pastor of a small church where the fishermen would come right to our house from their boats with fresh catches to share with us, they bring back such sweet memories for me.

@TheRealHoarse Pretty little one indeed! Love you being back to leaving the house, Hoarse. We can't keep doing for others. Your life is worth something too. ❤️

Look at this little pretty one… Saw this beautiful red-shouldered hawk perched in the parking lot of a Barnes & Noble. I love being back to carrying my camera with me when I leave the house. Hell, I love being back to leaving the house. 2026: more birds, more pictures, more life.

Terrible idea. As I've written many times, when propaganda is free and news is paywalled, people will only read propaganda. (I am being generous and calling CNN "news".) If CNN wanted to make money, they should have a streamer that is just the CNN archives, unedited, from any date, but esp historically significant dates. I'd pay $3.99/month for that. I won't pay for their website though.

Big news about CNN today: CNN's website, one of the most popular news sites in the world, is starting to ask some users to pay $3.99 a month for access — laying the first bricks in a paywall that should, over time, help foot the bill for CNN's journalism. cnn.com/2024/10/01/med…

One caller asked for help finding her brother. Another needed info about evacuation routes. A third worried if a nearby dam was about to burst. And many callers said "I'm just so proud of my neighbors." Local radio in western North Carolina is a literal lifeline right now 🧵

@bethsawin With all the technologies we've been told to tout as 'progress', we're going to find ourselves back to the only balm to our souls that truly heals - each other in community. A gentle listening circle will be exactly that.

'But the culture as a whole hasn't landed on more consistent purposes yet though there are so many purposes waiting to be claimed: healing, repairing, connecting, collaborating, purposes that while hard to pursue provide a deep sense of meaning to people's lives.'

If anybody wants to know why Gen X is always mad, it's because we had to replace our record collections with a tape collection that we had to replace with a CD collection that we had to replace with an MP3 collection, and now we need a subscription to listen to music.

Please share. Bayswater/Broadway in #kitsilano #vancouver, saw a dog hit by a car 5pm tonight while walking my dogs. Told the driver to go to Burrard/Broadway emergency but never showed. Midsized brown dog/some spots. If anyone has an update, it would help me sleep tonight.🙏

This anniversary will always hurt those of us who lived through this tragedy. There are people still alive today that know exactly what happened. Please help give the family some peace.

@TheRealHoarse @TPATammyh One of these days, someone is going to love all those things about you that you always thought you'd have to hide to be loved and you're finally going to see why I keep telling you it's never EVER been about you! ❤️

@David_Moscrop We made the smart choice and use an independent pharmacy. I'd trust them with my life and like the Cheers Bar....they know my name.
