Today, I officially filed for re-election as South Carolina’s Superintendent of Education! 🍎 When I first ran for this office, I promised to focus on the fundamentals: serving students, supporting teachers, and empowering parents. Together, we’ve delivered real results.
 Teacher pay is up. Reading scores are rising. Classrooms are regaining focus. And parents once again have a voice in their children’s education. South Carolina education is on the rise - but our work isn’t finished. I’m running for re-election to keep raising standards, expanding opportunity, and ensuring every child in South Carolina has the chance to succeed. Promises made. Promises kept. Serving in the Governor’s Office has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Governor @henrymcmaster and a team of dedicated public servants who care deeply about this state and the people who call it home. Through this experience, I’ve had the privilege of seeing South Carolina from a unique vantage point—traveling the state, meeting hardworking citizens, and gaining a deeper appreciation for just how special this state truly is. I’m excited to begin a new chapter as Public Information Director at the @EducationSC , where I look forward to continuing to serve the people of our state and supporting the important work being done to strengthen education across South Carolina.

Back to School, Back to School… The school year is beginning for many schools this week. Remember that our morning and afternoon commutes will be changing so give yourself extra time to arrive safely to school, work, and home. One of @schighwaypatrol and @thescdps biggest priorities is the safety of our most precious cargo. Slow down in school zones and be prepared to stop if required when signaled by a school bus. Limit those distractions, watch out for pedestrians walking to school, and those that may be riding a bike. Lastly please make sure everyone is wearing a seatbelt and children are properly restrained in their seats.
