@SkySportsNews If manure tries to look for another manager, they’ll continue in their mid table spot. You have a manager that knows the DNA of the club, managed to get something out of these set of players, move on to other things like more signings and/or fixing those stadium leaks.

Is Jamie Carragher right - will Michael Carrick be Man Utd manager next season? 💬 Is a new contract for Fernandes, Man Utd's biggest priority this summer? 🔴 Who's the best fit for Chelsea - Iraola, Silva or Alonso? 🔵 Is Arsenal's biggest problem fatigue, not nerves? ❓ Is Maddison fit enough to save Spurs from relegation?

@Mo_Arsenal9 It’s there a way to protest? This is becoming absurd and ridiculous. Arab money influencing the biggest league in the world is shameful. They’re not even hiding it, Rodri’s comments proved a lot.

Arsenal should request Fulham match to postpone as well. It doesn't make sense to play 3 matches in 6/7 days.

🧵1/2 OAU’S LAST MINUTE CANCELLATION CANNOT BE BLAMED ON PETER OBI The real failure is the university’s own, and the invited guest should not be made the scapegoat. I have read the statement issued by the authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in which they attempt to justify the abrupt cancellation of the lecture to be delivered by His Excellency, Peter Obi, on the grounds that “due process was not followed” and that the university was not informed of his status until a day before the event. I reject this narrative in its entirety. It is a carefully crafted attempt to shift blame from an internal administrative failure onto an innocent guest, and it deserves a strong and unambiguous pushback. 1. The claim of short notice is factually wrong. Contrary to the university’s assertion, the student organisers communicated their invitation, the identity of the guest speaker, and the request for the use of Oduduwa Hall well in advance. Documentary evidence shows that a formal letter, clearly naming His Excellency Peter Obi, a former two-term Governor of Anambra State and a presidential candidate, was submitted to the relevant university offices weeks before the scheduled date. The idea that the university only became aware of “the status and calibre of the invited guest” on Friday is, at best, a grave internal communication breakdown, and at worst, a deliberate misrepresentation designed to justify a decision that was taken for reasons the university is unwilling to disclose. 2. The security excuse is a smokescreen. The university claims it could not make necessary security and logistical arrangements because of the short notice. This is unconvincing. Public figures of Peter Obi’s standing maintain advance security teams that routinely liaise with local law enforcement whenever they honour invitations. If the university had genuine security concerns, a simple phone call or email to Mr. Obi’s office, even on that Friday, would have triggered immediate coordination with the Nigeria Police and the DSS. No such outreach was made. The university cannot plead inability to act when it made no effort whatsoever to engage the guest’s team. Safety cannot be invoked as an after-the-fact justification for a cancellation that left the guest and thousands of students stranded. 3. Assuming but not conceding that due process was not followed by the student organisers, Peter Obi bears zero responsibility. Let me be absolutely clear: Peter Obi is an invited guest, not an event planner. The responsibility for booking halls, securing internal approvals, and complying with university protocols rests entirely with the host organizers, in this case, the students. If the students fell short of any administrative requirement, that is a matter strictly between the university and its students. It has nothing to do with the invited speaker, who accepted an invitation in good faith, made travel arrangements, and showed up to honour the students and the institution. By cancelling the event at the eleventh hour and releasing a statement that lists “due process” failures, OAU is implicitly, and unfairly, associating Peter Obi with a procedural infraction he knew nothing about. The university’s own statement acknowledges that it holds him in high esteem. Yet it subjected him to public embarrassment, wasted his time and resources, and disappointed thousands of young Nigerians who had gathered to listen to him, all because of an internal failure that could have been resolved without cancelling the event. If the university really held him in esteem, it would have found a solution, not an excuse. @PeterObi @YunusaTanko @firstladyship @EstherUmoh10 @MansarayFrances

In continuation of my extensive consultations with Nigerian leaders, today, notable South East Leaders, and I visited our respected former President Goodluck Jonathan @GEJonathan on a consultation regarding the 2027 general elections and, more importantly, the future of our dear nation. Our discussions were frank, thoughtful, and anchored on the urgent need to reposition Nigeria on the path of unity, security, stability, productivity, and inclusive governance. At a time when our nation continues to grapple with economic hardship, rising insecurity, and deepening social divisions, it has become imperative that Leaders across regions come together to reflect, consult, and act in the overall interest of the Nigerian people. Nigeria today requires leadership that is guided not by personal ambition, but by competence, character, capacity, and compassion. The kind of leadership that understands that governance is not about sharing what is left, but about creating what is needed. We must move from a consumption-driven nation to a production-driven one, where our vast human and natural resources are effectively harnessed for the common good. The 2027 elections must therefore not just be seen as another political exercise, but as a critical opportunity to reset the trajectory of our country. It must be about the Nigerian child who deserves quality education, the struggling entrepreneur who needs a conducive environment to thrive, and the millions of citizens who simply desire a secure and functional nation. I remain convinced that through sincere dialogue, unity of purpose, and a firm commitment to doing what is right, Nigeria can and will rise again. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

You’re not boring, you’re safe. And in 2026 dating, safe is the new ‘message read at 11:47pm’. Try this next time: • On date 2, ‘accidentally’ do something unhinged or mildly dramatic. • End the night with a kiss that says ‘I’m not asking for feedback later.’ • Or just own the ‘no spark’ and reply: ‘Cool, friends it is. I’ll be the one who actually shows up when your cat dies.’ Or try rejecting them first before they do you.

@TheFigen_ This man didn’t just solve blanket theft—he went full caveman engineering. “Darling, pass the 40kg emotional support boulder so I can finally sleep without waking up in a burrito.” Peak relationship goals. Next level: naming it Kevin and giving it its own pillow. 🪨🛏️

Federal government of Nigeria should introduce a “National Crying day”. We need to dedicate a day to cry together, probably in a public space, for what we are passing through. This individual cries inside the room is not working out.
