I see #something in the critical response divide of THE DRAMA, specifically with the depiction of Emma. I don’t think it totally hinges on age, but I immediately clocked the way that she might’ve been radicalized that feels very specific to growing up online in the last 10 years

the hypocrisy in the drama is insane but also very well thought out because rachel actually DID something objectively awful but still positions herself as morally superior !! it’s such a perfect portrayal of how people weaponise morality.

the first real excellent movie of 2026. perfectly takes apart the idyllic 2020s western couple and puts them through the ringer of imperfection in the end asking if love can be possible within grey morality. defines exactly where we are as people.

I think it was also genius to release the film the week of Easter. There are so many themes of sin and atonement in this movie. Are certain sins worse than others? Who decides? Does atonement make certain sins better than others who have not atoned?

seriously cannot stop thinking about the drama. an astonishingly layered script unafraid to be starkly - and necessarily - honest about such a sensitive subject so often shied away from and dissect it a million different ways until every preconceived notion its audience may have is confronted and challenged. what’s worse: thoughts or actions? who do we afford more grace to in society? who gets to decide that? is there a limit to love? what is it? can people truly change? can we let them?
