hey world... does anyone know why google advanced search seems to be randomly *not* limiting by the usage rights field? It works sometimes. I've changed browsers. I've cleared cache. It *sometimes* works... but i can't figure out why/how

@jfharvey But, if you work with students, you do need them to cite, rather than try to submit as their own work. So, guidelines are a necessary evil … that’s my take on it. We also advise them how to cite Wikipedia, even though in most cases we wouldn’t suggest it.

This is beyond me: How to cite #ChatGPT apastyle.apa.org/blog/how-to-ci… via @APA_Style. My gut reaction is this is disrespectful to the actual sources, and dangerous for science and humanity. Curious to hear others' thoughts...

If you work with students, academic integrity calls for citation of any writing that is not your own. So, knowing that students may use ChatGPT, I'd prefer they cite it, even if I disagree with using it in writing overall because of it's flawed use of other sources...

Addendum: I should have clarified earlier on that I do think it's important to acknowledge the role of a text generator like ChatGPT in putting together a sequence of words, and I appreciate that @mlastyle and @APA_Style are calling for us to do that.
