@JoeRecord_ Trial and error, but the middle finger bias ones and Gausman splitter grip are a good starting point.

The Splitter is an interesting pitch in that there are tons of ways to throw it based on whether you're supination or pronation dominant. Here's one way to bucket the most common grips to begin the pitch design process. -2-Seam grip -Middle finger bias -Index finger bias

More importantly, Joe Record has been quietly cooking—without much acknowledgment of the big boy seam effects he’s creating between his 4S and Sinker Coming off an outing touching the high 90s with the heater. This isn’t just deception or nuance. It’s true talent seam-shifted arm-side run— not something for the pitch model enjoyers to feast on using unadjusted HB values and vibes-based comps. And frankly? Some pitch model noobs may be swiping left on Joe the moment they see his sinker metrics on slide 1-- missing the critical context living on slides 2 and 3.

We disproportionately overvalue the cosmetic shift from +1” HB (arm-side) to -1” HB (glove-side) on cutters—believing that crossing the zero line is where the real value lives. But strangely, we don’t treat the difference between -1” and -3” with the same urgency or perceived gain. Going from +1" → -1" feels like success Going from -1" → -3" feels like... greed? overkill? meh? This bias—whether conscious or subconscious—is limiting cutter usage for certain arms.
