On Nov 10, 2024, tragedy struck @TuskegeeUniv during their 100th Homecoming celebration. What should have been a joyful time of reunion and celebration turned into a moment of fear and loss. One life was lost, and many others were injured during this heartbreaking event. We honor and recognize Officer Alan Ashley and all first responders who courageously stepped up to protect their community. Their swift action helped secure the scene, assist those in need, and prevent further harm. In times of crisis, the bravery and dedication of first responders remind us of the vital role they play in keeping our communities safe. On this day in 2015, tragedy struck Umpqua Community College (@umpquacc).  Amid the chaos, Army veteran and student Chris Mintz stood tall.  He ran toward the danger, shielding some of his classmates and creating a pathway to safety for others.  He showed extraordinary courage in the face of life-threatening danger.  For his bravery, Chris was later honored with the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Citizen Honors Award.  Chris Mintz is a powerful reminder that true heroism is found in selfless acts.
