Many presidents have quoted Scripture—Lincoln, FDR, Reagan, Obama. But I don’t recall a sitting president, from behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, declaring John 3:16 to the nation as President Trump just did. That verse is the Gospel in a nutshell—God’s love, Christ’s sacrifice, and our hope. Thank you, @realDonaldTrump x.com/whitehouse/sta…

A six month CBS investigation found no evidence that California’s highest in the nation gas prices are the result of price gouging, as state politicians have repeatedly claimed. Instead, the investigation found those prices are largely the result of California’s own policies.

For years, California leaders accused oil companies of price gouging at the pump, but a state investigation found no evidence of that. Instead, a CBS News California investigation found what's really driving the highest gas prices in the U.S. cbsloc.al/3PPOHwW

It is a Good Friday because Jesus willingly went to the cross to take away the sin of the world so that we may have true freedom and salvation in Him. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15:13-15

Good Friday isn’t about the universal virtue of “sacrifice.” It’s about Christ’s particular sacrifice - his brutal crucifixion - a real, historic event with eternal consequences. “[Jesus], being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!” On this Good Friday, let’s all solemnly remember Christ’s propitiatory sacrifice and glorify Him.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor

Today, on Good Friday, we mark a day of sacrifice. Some New Yorkers will abstain from eating; others will spend hours without speaking. Faith, the Bible tells us, is belief in the things unseen. That belief is what will guide so many of our neighbors in solemn reflection and reverence. I wish all those observing Good Friday a blessed day of peace.

When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.

I didn’t know that aborted human body parts are sold by abortion clinics for profit. No wonder the journalist who exposed it was hounded by the state.

I really don’t like hearing non-Christians talk about Easter as if it’s some abstract allegory. It’d be better not to talk about it at all. Good Friday isn’t about sacrifice. It’s about Jesus’s sacrifice. God-made-flesh shed his blood on the cross for our sins, so that by grace through faith we could be forgiven and reconciled to God. Acts 4:12: “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
