...As with his earlier immigration opinions rejected by the Supreme Court, Judge Murphy seems to take the view that anything that can go wrong for the Trump Administration will go wrong in his analysis. At virtually every critical point, the court seems to adopt the harshest possible interpretation against the Administration.

...Notably, when Hochul was appealing to the New York diaspora, the official newspaper of the Cuban Communist Party asked the Cuban diaspora to reinvest in the country. Neither pitch seems to have made progress with those who fled their respective homes.

...New York Democrats are only the latest example of reaching the point where "you run out of other people's money." Yet, in New York, socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani is demanding tax hikes and a $30 minimum wage. jonathanturley.org/2026/02/19/mam…

NY Gov. Kathy Hochul is asking "high net worth" taxpayers to "go down to Palm Beach and see who you can bring back home" "to support the generous social programs we have in our state." There is another novel approach: change your policies to make people want to come back...

The latest false story attacking Erika Kirk again raises the question of why public figures are subjected to a higher standard for defamation. It may be time for the Supreme Court to reconsider opinions treating public figures like public officials. jonathanturley.org/2026/03/18/eri…

Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA) stated the reason for the continued shutdown succinctly: "What we don’t want to fund is ICE.” Defunding ICE is clearly a non-starter with a majority in Congress and a majority of the public. However, Democrats are continuing this absurd shutdown...

...What is curious is that Comey then said that he went home and apparently shared the name of a classified program with his uncleared family: "Only when I got home and told my family the story did I get the reaction I was looking for. When I write, I listen to classical or jazz because, in ways I can’t explain, the music unlocks something. It frees me." It apparently also frees him of "need to know" security protocols.

...Here is Comey's account, which may have seemed less like a rendition and more like a cry for help for some of the agents: "This was 2016, and you may know that Beyoncé’s album Lemonade had come out with a track called “Sandcastles.” So I said, “Oh, like the Beyoncé song.” Blank stares all around the FBI conference room. So I did the natural thing. I think I sang, “We rebuild sand castles that washed away.” Nope, nothing — dead silence."

James Comey just recounted how he sang Beyoncé's "Sandcastles" to FBI staff at a classified briefing and was met with a stony silence. In fairness to the agents, they did not know about Comey's use of beaches to collect intelligence and secret messages... jonathanturley.org/2025/05/18/she…
