It's great to meet up with one of our #INSPIRE grant holders at #ECO2024 and learn more about their work. @JulieAarestrup is carrying out innovative work to help us understand the relationship between early life infections to prevent cancer in adults.

I am very grateful to be awarded an INSPIRE Research Challenge grant to explore the overlooked links between early life infections and adult cancer. Thank you for the support @wcrfint 🙏 Looking forward to the collaboration @Jen_L_Baker @BurgnerDavid @KDybkaer @RikkeJacobsen

Jennifer Baker's WCRF funded research on display at #ECO2023 showed that higher childhood BMI was associated with a lower risk of dense breasts, thus, breast cancer. wcrf.org/researchwefund…

The use of person-first language is the standard for respectfully addressing individuals living with chronic diseases; we don’t label people because of their illness. #obesity @EASOPresident

Dr Jennifer Baker @EASOobesity co-chair of #COTF at #ECNsevilla, reinforces that BMI is an observational tool and is useful at the population level but is inappropriate for diagnosis. Particularly with children, measurement is essential.

Wow! I have only just seen this…These are hugely stigmatising comments from Lord Robathan in the @UKHouseofLords about something he clearly doesn’t understand. Obesity is a chronic relapsing condition, start recognising it as one!! #obesityisnotachoice @AboutObesityorg
Neil Floch MD@NeilFlochMD

This is a prime example of a high government official who is oblivious to the scientific backed causes of #obesity and is propagating all the #stigma and discrimination that is preventing successful treatments twitter.com/dollytheis/sta…
