@neuroecology Apparently mice have more than 50 areas that get retinal input; ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28228269 And it's a more manageable 10 areas in zebrafish.

Someone on Friday told me about the "microcellular tegmental nucleus" (aka IMC/IPC in birds) that is... another output of the retina? In addition to LGN and SC. I can't find a schematic of the outputs from the retina - any pointers? How many channels does this thing have?
