Excited to share new work from my lab, where we image visual brain areas in behaving zebrafish larvae to see how sensory information is converted into hunting, freezing, or escape behaviors; pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

@AndrewHires So sorry to hear this. Absolutely devastating, and the uncertainty and not being able to do anything about it right now must be so difficult

Giving up. House not a confirmed loss yet, but seems inevitable in this weather if air and ground support have been redirected. Going to go huddle with my family and fellow homeless refugees. Worse than the worst case scenario unfolded. Thanks for trying. ✌️

Very happy to share the first paper from my lab, lead by @BiswadeepKhan. We show that we can evoke strikes, the final phase of hunting, in head-fixed zebrafish larvae, and use this new assay to study how they estimate distance to prey; sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Fresh on @bioRxiv: What the zebrafish’s eye tells the zebrafish’s brain. We used 2P imaging and photolabeling to systematically chart the structure and function of zebrafish retinal ganglion cells in the live eye. bit.ly/36Nm2wl. 👇

Someone on Friday told me about the "microcellular tegmental nucleus" (aka IMC/IPC in birds) that is... another output of the retina? In addition to LGN and SC. I can't find a schematic of the outputs from the retina - any pointers? How many channels does this thing have?

@markdhumphries I enjoyed the review... but perhaps you should credit the (female) first or last authors of the gamma frequency paper?
