I’ve always viewed it as Luka’s playmaking ability, coupled with his absurd scoring, more than makes up whatever gap an SGA has on him in efficiency. I don’t understand how efficiency became the supreme metric. One can give you a lean 30, sometimes 40 & allow offense around him to flow, sure. but then not his job or responsibility to get others going, or to generate beyond his 14 FGA. Pick your spots, close the game. That’s your job. The other will go out & give you 37, sometimes 70 while driving an entire offense, generating another 20-25ppg in playmaking - that the team *relies* on every night (*plus* closing games) this is not even re the MVP debate. this is just for the HP basketballs of the world who will just flat out say SGA is the better offensive player. It makes my head hurt. 42pts 5 reb 11ast 2st +21 for Luka tonight btw.

I can’t respect any player who is talented enough to be an elite scorer, but sluts themselves out for free throws purely for the love of the bait and grift. This was how I felt about James Harden, and it’s also how I feel about SGA.
