On paper this was probably always true, but I allowed some belief in sometimes teams being greater than the sum of their parts. But Sweden and the USA sure haven’t showed much of that, and Canada looks like the Monstars from Space Jam.

After watching USA and Sweden, I’ve decided none of this matters. Ain’t nobody stopping Canada unless one of these goalies wakes up and does his best Dominik Hasek impression for 60 minutes.

If you’re an American and not rooting for Team USA, log off. I want every single Pittsburgh Penguin to have an amazing Olympics and return healthy and ready for a playoff run. But we don’t root for the Flyers win in Pittsburgh, and we don’t root for Canadians to win in the USA.
