It is quite sad to see so many Americans define European civilization = British / more generally Western Europe.
We need to stop attempting to further Balkanize our already small continent - Balts, Balkaners, Slavs etc. are all fully European like the rest of us.

I'd go so far as to say Quebec City feels more "European" than quite a lot of cities in Europe (e.g. Birmingham UK, The Hague outside of the tiny old core, or even Berlin).

I can not stress enough how much of a good decision it is to visit Quebec City. Especially if you live in the Northeast. You are less than a 2 hour flight away from being in what feels like Europe. It's a top tier historical city and so alive in the Summer.
