According to reports, at approximately 07:20, a nurse on duty attended to the teenager, who her grandmother accompanied. The visit was a follow-up to medical tests conducted on 02 April 2026 as part of preparations for family planning services. Test results confirmed that the teenager is pregnant. During a consultation, the minor disclosed that she had engaged in sexual intercourse with her boyfriend, who is 22 years old. The matter was immediately reported to police, and a case of statutory rape has been opened by the South African Police Service in Phaudi under the Capricorn District. The identity of the suspect is known, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him. Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.
