@0Idmanfrank @BarbraStreisand The uk hasn’t had a school shooting since. Obviously if someone wants to get hold of a gun and do damage they will but because we make it so much harder the last time we had any significant shooting was in 2010. I think guns should remain banned in the uk.

Thank God Streisand decided to take a moment to “educate” us peasants. First, it clearly says, “the right of the people…” not the right of militias. Second, during our founders time, people owned canons and warships. Third, listen to James Madison, “Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”

The rightwing Supreme Court has twisted the 2nd Amendment beyond all recognition. It was written for “well regulated militias” at a time when single loading muskets were the common weapon, not assault weapons.

@0Idmanfrank @BarbraStreisand Governments should be afraid to arm citizens! We don’t have guns much in the uk - our police are not armed except at airports and around government buildings. Farmers can get gun licences and we banned the legal ownership of assault rifles after the Dunblane massacre.

@Steveowens58 But our culture is being eroded - do you want that? Should we not insist that people coming here be asked to fit in? Or should they be free to bring the cultures from abroad? If the latter then our culture will go.

Can someone explain why it is OK for native Americans, native Australians and others to want to preserve their culture and not be diversified but it isn't OK for us to want the same in the UK? I am not seeking an argument just a genuine question.

@veryfathomer I’m not sure we have a native British population? We’ve been invaded by romans, vikings, all sorts so difficult to say what’s British. Also we don’t really need to not diversify as we’re hardly an endangered culture.

@Jenny_1884 Well now, herein lies the problem- I can’t move to the EU because of Brexit we now have restricted movement, so now I’m stuck on this shitty, backward looking, racist excuse of an island. This is not the Britain I used to love.
