Admittedly, I'm a bit of a crybaby lately. The culmination of 2--no--nearly 9 years of learning, changing, sharing, and advocating has weighed heavily on my shoulders since The Cholesterol Code was released, but the emotions in this new video by Nick hit me pretty hard. I don't think that was his intention, but, for me, and others like me, we are faced with big decisions that don't have answers. Without a scientific or medical background, those questions are intimidating to answer. I feel comfortable with my decision to manage my mental health through metabolic therapies at the expense of the unknown. Does the high LDL matter? This is the no-mans-land that was thoroughly discussed with my doctor at the time. Is it right? Is it wrong? We don't know, and that's the point. What pulled my emotional strings in this video was not Nick's general curiosity to keep asking questions and seeking answers. Rather, it's that he feels the same way and reiterated that none of us are alone on this journey. We have to #staycurious We have to keep asking questions. We have to keep pushing to seek answers. We have to continue to share our personal experiences. Most of all, we have to make informed decisions that best fit our personal needs. Because I don't have a scientific or medical background, I lean heavily on the research provided by people like Nick--those who are truly following the scientific method with a genuine openness to where it leads.
