is it? OK, use the classical definition and list some non-Russian or Eastern Bloc oligarchs in the modern era. There must be legal evidence not just accusations. Let's say the 18th to 20th century. We need to exclude Sparta/Athens, Rome, etc., because they predate the modern era.

Sure, you want the original Greek from Aristotle or recent history? Personally, I'd use recent history as before 1991 people rarely babbled about Oligarchs for about 2300 years. After the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, “oligarchs” typically meant the new owners of former state property in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and other post-Soviet states who used political ties to acquire mines, oil, metals, banks, media, and other key sectors. They were not formally the state, but they were close enough to it for wealth and political influence to reinforce each other. They did not create the mines, oil etc. but "took it" through schemes with what was left of the government. Today, they are under the thumb of the government, mainly strongman Vladimir Putin. Much like the Chinese billionaire figureheads in China. So the only real "oligarchs" in the world are from the Eastern Bloc, wielding power over regional commodities. Using the word in the 21st Century about anyone else is merely an attempt to insult and impugn them ithout real cause or evidence. Like calling anyone who disagrees with you a Nazi or a Fascist, it's just a childish attack without any true merit. Hope this helps.

It's just the usual silly communist propaganda. I've posted on it for years; now I just point out if a post uses an obvious lie or tries the old "insert something truthish-seeming with a false narrative chaser." I don't engage when I know the perpetrator has 20 of the "usual" memes they post every day. I just know that every once in a while, one of the potentially useful-idiot recruits will take a second look, think about the information, and see the lie.
