Ramadan Mubarak to all of my friends and family at the start of this holy month.
May this time bring comfort and support to those who are suffering and generosity kindness to all.
Some roads/highways around the NEA are currently impassable. Snowclearing operations are ongoing so please be cautious and pay attention to any travel advisories if you need to travel this morning.
Morning #nlwx! I'm in the process of going through the newer data but here are some notes:
a) the ice pellet/snow line will be farther north. That means parts/all of the Metro will likely see ice pellets for a time overnight into Friday morning
b) Snowfall amounts are still going to be heavy, even with the ice. Areas that remain snow or mostly snow just north of the ice pellet line on the Avlaon and adjacent areas will potentially see over 80 cm.
c) a significant amount of freezing rain is likely over the Burin/Southern Avalon tonight. Same with St. Pierre.
d) I will have a more detailed update for you later this morning but overall the idea from last night's discertation (ntv.ca) are still very much valid.
