@ArikGenerick It is like that, but also not caring helps, or make an Alt account to say the things you want to say
English

@Merrydawg They're scanning QR codes, logic QRs give immediate access to their account without password, 2fa, or 1 time security code, it's like a master key, and people just do it
English

@PandaKingEX That was SO4, SO5 was essentially made out of developer free time as a passion project because they wanted to make a SO game but couldn't get proper funding for it.
the SO series went long dorment because of SO4
English

Ok star ocean 5 is the first game I’ve seen in these that unfortunately is deserving of all of its hate. Its the game responsible for crippling Tri Ace and the star ocean series and genuinely one of the worst JRPGs I’ve played.
羽澄 光@hikaru_hazumi
These JRPGs certainly have their flaws, but they are still severely underrated. These TriAce games have their own unique charm.
English

@Jman88933 Dang so I guess that was going to be the summer announcement, haven't played that one looking forward to it
English

I encourage more Tales fans to be proactive and *intelligent* enough to do research before reacting to any further Remaster announcement.
Bandai Namco has made it crystal clear in the past that the reason why the selection of remasters are random is due to complications relating to the original source code data of those older games. This is not something that can be fixed overnight or in even a few months. Analyzing source code data could take a very long time to do and thats not even counting all the things they'd have to do with these older titles to make them presentable in modern day standards.
Taking all of this into account, I really wish people would put a little more thought before deciding to angrily tweet at the company when they announce a remaster to an entry that you didn't want. They've been transparent about how they were going handle these remasters from the jump. How *you* decide to react to these remasters is completely on you. Not them.

Tales of Eternia Remastered is PEGI rated for Nintendo Switch

@JustAnothrAcct Twitter is certainly a place.
Hopefully disagreements don't lead to hate, have a good one.
English

@KessingerJustin Compelling enough for Twitter discourse, anyhow.
English

Since you want to get pedantic on me...sure I'll bite.
Gamers naturally filtered out pirates when CDPR released Witcher 2 back in 2012. Why? Because CDPR treated their customers with respect, gave them a good product, at a fair price.
So again, the "secret" to minimising the pirate issue was clear enough for everyone to see. Build trust, goodwill, and make great products or services, and the customers will know what to do.

Justin K@KessingerJustin
@GiveMeBanHammer You did avoid it, and Gaben doesn't provide a product, he provides a service, his company hosts games and occasionally makes them, but mainly they host, if a game gets pirated they barely lose anything because of millions of others, but the dev loses a lot, possibly everything
English

@JustAnothrAcct So for me, a minor inconvenience like "check in once a month" is such a minor thing that to me it's like "why would I ever care about that"
English

@JustAnothrAcct True, I'm the kind of person who when seeing or being inconvenienced, waits, even at a Restaurant for food, I could be waiting for 30 minutes without my food, I still won't want to speak up and complain, because I don't know, they could be so slammed, I'd feel bad for saying smth
English

@JustAnothrAcct I didn't mean IP Protections specifically, just ran out of letters to use and couldn't think of a better way to say it, But that's all I meant, and nothing more, is that we differ on said values, I think creators should be protected, and get their determined worth per unit is all
English

@KessingerJustin Nah. I think IP protections are actually massively inhibitive of growth, both technologically and culturally.
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer To all things? No, to things people may have spent years of their lives on, investing up to millions of dollars in funding, after gaining the training and expertise? Sure
If someone wants to do something for free, that's their choice, but why also take from someone who didn't?
English

@KessingerJustin @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer Must you attach a monetary worth to all things? I don't think so. I believe some things actually do exceed monetary price tags. Some things are priceless to people. My personal works are priceless to me. Any price attached would be insufficient to the price I put on it myself.
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer I don't know your lifes story, sure, but I know from this discussion you believe being inconvenienced for the sake of IP protection is unacceptable to you, where as to me it's not, unless you've made this entire argument in jest and you actually agree.
It's binary.
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer I suppose you've got me there, you expect no return on investment(of time) so the whole concept of getting value out of your creation is lost on you specifically.
It's both commendable, and saddening to see someone not value their own creative worth.
English

@KessingerJustin @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer I don't toil away at creative efforts for the sake of payment. If I did, there are far better fields to go into than something so bloated as writing this day and age, especially with the advent of AI.
I do it to create.
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer I see the problems, I see people trying everything they can think of to fix the problem, but every solution they come up with just gets rejected because no one cares about anything but themselves.
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer The actual difference between me and you, is I simply don't mind being inconvenienced in some minute and intangible way that I will never notice, because the world doesn't revolve around me, and I believe self sacrifices aren't wholly unacceptable if there's an obvious problem.
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer You spend years of your life toiling away, making it, put it to market, and then poof, everyone just pirates it anyways, all your time and effort, wasted
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer You simply don't care because you're not the one affected, and you have a fuck the corp mindset if it was you or someone you cared about being taken advantage of in such ways would you still hold the thought of, not caring if everything you made digitally was pirated and not paid
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer The most simplified fact of the matter is, NO ONE has a right to anything of value, no matter how big or small it may be, their life will not cease if they are prevented from experiencing it, if it's not worth the cost/value that is proposed then they should just not receive it.
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer "Participants of the trade" I like how you pluralized it, meaning they have to agree on a value, if they don't agree, there's no sale, and if there's no sale the 2nd person doesn't get it.
But you believe in only buyers having a say, and if they disagree they can get for free.
English

@TheDocK_vt @JustAnothrAcct @GiveMeBanHammer Your argument is invalid, an artist is not "deleting" or losing in any way whatever they tried to sell to someone and got stiffed, they still have the piece, until they so decide to delete it, if ever.
English

@KessingerJustin @JustAnothrAcct @GiveMeBanHammer digital media cannot be stolen, this is correct.
copy/paste is not the same as cut/paste.
you're also the cherry picker here.
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer Would that make the first "buyer" less of an asshole? Absolutely not.
English

@JustAnothrAcct @TheDocK_vt @GiveMeBanHammer all art is replicatable, as you put it, they could just sell it to someone else, right, just because you didn't pay them for it, doesn't mean someone else won't.
English
