Masaaki Hoshino, producer of Pokémon Champions, comments on the game’s graphics: Yes, as a Pokemon fan, I naturally understand the various discussions currently taking place within the fan community. I can totally relate to all of it. Regarding the graphics and gameplay, we’ve truly tried to do our best in both areas. With Pokemon Champions, we have more limitations [compared to Pokkén Tournament graphics, a game he worked on before]. Nevertheless, there are some things I really wanted to tackle – as a kind of new challenge. One of the things you could see… for example, was that all the Pokemon have their own shadows. These shadows and the spatial depth they create are one of the things that was particularly important to me. I really wanted to incorporate that kind of visual reality into the game. And another thing I want to mention is the battle effects: we developed them from scratch in this game. I was very thorough in reviewing them and personally went through every single one. Phew, that was a lot of moves.

The Neptunia thing left one thing clear: battle against censorship is lost, things will never go back to how they used to be. As long as ppl still give their money to the companies, it will only get worse bc money is the only languaje the understand. Enjoy things while you can.

ngl, I outside of Purple Heart I have no interest in making models with these new designs. They drop a lot of design rules that I loved about the OGs and replace them with ones I hate. The excessive amount of detail and removal of zero space, adding a bunch of attachments/armor, and reducing the skin exposure as much as possible. Outside of Purple Heart, the new designs look less like bodysuits and more like body armor. But those OG designs were what drew me into Neptunia, so seeing that removed feels like a slap in the face. Already I'm seeing parts of the community try to downplay the "fanservice" aspect, saying it wasn't a major part of Neptunia and that people who complain about it are overreacting because the new designs look cool. But fanservice is more than just panty shots or bath scenes, it's also how the characters look and the subtle design choices that go into it. The new designs feel like a deliberate attempt to move away from those OG designs and replace them with something that'll appeal to a wider audience (and the executives at Sony). That means toning down the bodysuits to emphasis their body less. I'm not saying you can't enjoy these designs if you personally like them, but I do think that Neptunia is losing a core piece of what made it appealing to many like me. I've seen many franchises go this direction and it loses a part of its soul in the process. I am by no means a Neptunia mega fan. Despite loving the series, I've only played a couple of the games and mainly gotten my consumption of Nep media through the anime, manga, and reading the Wiki. So maybe my opinion doesn't matter at all here. I don't know. What I do know is that if this franchise goes down the road I think it does, this'll be where my love for Neptunia ends.

Also. I don't doubt that the original designs for the original eight are in the game if I assume this is the same engine as SVS and GMRE.

@BeepisDokkan It’s part of neptunia’s identity. To remove that element, feels wrong.

Is there any actual reason why people are calling the new neptunia designs censored or is it just because they changed them in a way that isnt just taking more clothes off them
