I’m 41, and my high school coach will always be Coach Long, and my college coach will always be Coach Ingles. For someone who is coach, calling that person by their first name just does not feel right. Mom, dad, grandma, grandpa…those are lifetime names. So is “coach”. It is a powerful title when you think about it that way.
