Polis says he had a goal to make Colorado one of the top ten safest states, and he did the exact opposite… Flip the script!

Polis wrapped his final State of the State with a victory lap. Coloradans are still living the reality of higher costs, unattainable housing, and communities that are not safe. A speech cannot hide what families see every day at the grocery store, in their energy costs, and in their neighborhoods. Colorado needs results, not rhetoric. House Republicans are ready to deliver real results.

Polis just said, "Health care expenses are rising far faster than the rest of our budget. We must take action to bring Medicaid costs to a more sustainable level and protect access for the 1.2 million Coloradans who rely on Medicaid." The Governor says Colorado is one of the best states for business. What he forgot to mention is that we are the 6th most regulated state in the nation. Check back in a few years and see where those business rankings really land.

The Governor touted that average teacher pay is up $13,000, but what he did not mention is that Colorado still ranks 41st out of 50 for average teacher pay, and that is before factoring in one of the highest costs of living in the nation. nea.org/resource-libra…

Here's a quote from the Governor we can actually agree with... "This year we must bring homeowners insurance rates down. Costs continue to skyrocket, up 91% or an average of $2,000 since 2019". Is it just a coincidence that he took office in 2019??

The Governor claimed that H.R. 1 gutted our state budget by over a billion dollars, but the JBC will tell you otherwise. Non-partisan staff briefed our Joint Budget Committee that we would face nearly a billion-dollar budget deficit a full month before H.R. 1 ever passed...
