Colorado House Republicans
We've been debating HB26-1126, a bill that imposes burdensome regulations on small firearm businesses. Rep. @LSuckla ran an amendment to make sure that affected businesses have a voice in the conversation!

Our public lands in Colorado are already protected, and SJR26-015 makes no mention of multi-use management. In the area I represent, my constituents rely on these lands for ranching, hunting, recreation, mining, and logging, that's the everyday reality for the people who live and work here.

Thank you for your interest in testifying on HB26-1209(Temporary Decrease in Statutory Property Tax Revenue Limits). We are so excited that so many people were interested so as requested by many here is the information on how to sign up.  The process is straightforward. You can testify in person, submit written testimony, or testify via Zoom. I recommend Zoom, committee members are far more likely to engage with and remember a live spoken presentation rather than a written testimony. sites.coleg.gov/public-testimo…

Here are just a couple highlighted bills we will be hearing on third readings on the House floor today that expand government, quick hits: HB26-1202 (Homelessness Strategy) Creates new taxing authorities + redirects fees for housing subsidies. This bill would massively grow government programs & taxes. HB26-1005 (Collective Bargaining) Eases union rules & forces good-faith negotiations. This bill would increase government meddling in private labor.

"The people are my boss, it's not the other way around." Rep. @LSuckla has been a consistent voice fighting for the people of Colorado! This latest attempt by Democrat Legislators to make the Citizen Initiative process more difficult is shameful!

"My grandfather taught me a lesson, copy what's good and don't do what's bad because you'll end up in a worst position than you already are. That's why I'm against this stupid bill!" Thank you @LSuckla for speaking against this horrible bill that restricts our First and Second Amendment Liberties!

How much did your property taxes go up? Mine went up 68% and I know I am not alone. This kind of massive spike is crushing families and small businesses all across Colorado and we can't just sit back and take it. I'm incredibly proud to champion HB26-1209, a bold, pro-taxpayer bill that temporarily decreases statutory property tax revenue limits to 4% growth. This delivers real, meaningful relief to Colorado families slammed by skyrocketing assessments. This isn't about gimmicks, it's about fairness, responsibility, and putting everyday Coloradans first. As property values climb and budgets tighten, our people deserve common-sense solutions that protect taxpayers from these excessive burdens while letting local governments serve without wasteful overreach. HB26-1209 gets that balance right. It's practical policy that supports families, boosts transparency in how tax dollars are handled, and reinforces our commitment to sound fiscal management. This is the kind of no-nonsense, forward-thinking leadership rural Colorado and the whole state need right now. You can read the full bill here: leg.colorado.gov/bills/HB26-1209

Last weekend, I made it home for the Cattlemen’s in Cortez. It was a full day of meetings with producers from across the cattle industry, followed by a great dinner with great people.

🚨 Ron DeSantis advocates for the nationwide abolition of property taxes. "You buy a home, you buy land... and then, you've been taxed many times.. is it your property, or NOT? Just for being on your property, you've got to write a check to the government every year?" Do you firmly support Ron DeSantis on this? A. Huge Yes B. No IF Yes, Give me a THUMBS-UP👍!! Why the double standard on #Colorado job losses, Senator? More than 130 hands-on energy producers lost THEIR jobs in Colorado just over a month ago, with a potentially devastating impact on a small Western Slope community, yet you didn't say a word about THOSE job losses: denvergazette.com/2025/11/26/col… Why not? Maybe you were mum about those newly-jobless Coloradans because they're casualties of a mindless anti-coal crusade you helped lead. Jobs in Boulder matter to John Hickenlooper. Jobs in Meeker . . . not so much. The layoffs of climate modelers at @NREL has @SenatorHick roaring like a lion. Pink slips for energy producers at the ColoWyo mine kept him as quiet as a mouse. If not for double standards, some politicos wouldn't have ANY standards at all. #copolitics #coleg @GovofCO #coal

Trump’s war on science and clean energy just cost even more jobs from our nation’s premier research center. Electricity bills have skyrocketed since Trump’s taken office. Killing renewable energy won’t make them any lower.
