I feel absolutely horrible that I had to actually REPORT an artist / requested a charge back for $325.00 dollars worth of emotes / art that they promised to give me weekly updates on however - the moment that I paid them - they stopped working on my art and ghosted me when I reached out after weeks of zero communication. Not exactly the route I wanted to go down because I love this artist, their work and everything I've ever gotten from them but I also don't like being kept into the dark especially after such a substantial investment and our agreed upon terms :(

so the government is planning MANDATORY CHANGES to how content is discovered on YouTube in the UK. - they want YouTube to prioritise mainstream broadcasters like BBC, ITV and Channel 4 over user created content with a 'prominence regime' this is absolutely insane and is going to severely affect everyone british youtuber should this go through. YouTube have started a campaign to fight this, but we need your help to ensure this doesn't go through like this, since this could RUIN the site

My son got so badly hacked today that the person got into his computer and demoted him from admin.
Call me naive but I didn't even know that was possible, but here we are.

I just recently found out that someone who I though was a friend has been talking about me behind my back.
Its upsetting but I think the worst part was how I'm too much, annoying, too loud and I need to shut the fuck up.
I know I can be a little bit much when I'm excited about stuff but I rather people tell me. Behind the laughing and fun, I'm a very self conscious and spend a lot of time overthinking about if I annoy people. I guess I kind of do now.

How is GTA6 80$ for the standard edition if they are not having ANY physical copies?? Ontop of that you have launch DLC?? The games industry is such a mess man. Playing through classic games recently feels like such a breath of fresh air I forgot how rough everything feels!!

You do not need to get a model several times a year like some of the very big creators end up doing. They are making more than enough cash to do this and its also a business expensive, so there is some fun stuff for the taxman to sort out with that
Speaking of the tax man I suppose there is a small line of thinking to suggest its not as expensive as it might appear (not by much) once things start getting made a 'business expense' for the taxman

The claim that Vtubing is expensive to start comes from a perfectionist way of thinking. I caught myself doing this before and ill provide a example of when it came to Hunt Showdown in the beginning.
-Bought the FPS mouse XYZ pro streamer used
-Bought the PC upgrades so I can get 144 FPS to go along with my 144hz 27" inch PC monitor
-New keyboard and headset
-Looked up min max guides on ingame performance for optimal FPS and keybindings
-Watched endless beginner guides
Y'know what happened? Still had no map sense, no rotation sense, subpar positioning, and terrible aim. A lot of talk and little walk to show for it. All that money spent just to still do as poorly as I would have without them.
Now connect the dots for this analogy and replace all the fancy gaming gear above with Vtuber model, debut, overlays, music, etc. Hands-on experience one ups all of that.
You do not need peak performance, or min/maxing, or emulating bigger creators in the beginning. Your content creation journey should start with testing your own measure and grinding before you commit to the "peripherals".

Its sorta strange seeing people believe the steam machine was anything but a mini form factor PC. Maybe just me but I dont see much meat in comparing it to consoles
To my understanding you can do more than just game on it and when you look at normal PC part prices these days its a bit dire all around. Well outside what it should be but what PC isnt these days thanks to certain folk making sure parts are too expensive.

Before that, If you’ve not already look into acoustically treating the space you’re going to do the recording best you can. Do use a condenser mic as well, people recommend the Rode NT1 as a decent cheap pick, can’t speak for it myself as I’ve never used it but worth having a gander. The treated space will also make any mic sound better
Something I’ve not noticed listed and I still believe is good to know is the rate guides, ie how much you charge for stuff so you are not under selling yourself.
Funnily enough there is a little bit of a different between what most Americans use vs what is used in the UK.
GVAA rate guide is typically for American stuff
UK pricing typically gravy for the brain and/or Equity (it’s the actors union) are a good place to look
Funnily enough and I only learned this because of my own curiosity, Americans on average of price seem to get proper shafting when it comes to how much you can make on games compared to the uk, If the rate guides are followed anyway. Again these are only GUIDES so you charge as you like. The uk guide makes mention that their recommendations are the minimum

Question for Vtubers and viewers!
When you see “18+” in the title of a stream, do you feel it implies lewd content of some sort? Or is it pretty well recognized as just a “mature content in general” type of signifier?
