@DiBonaNFL Fans and analysts sometimes ignore/don’t understand how asset management works for playoff/championship level teams. Howie is elite at this compared to other GM’s

This might be a lot for you to handle so take a seat and listen to this, Chad. Eagles GM Howie Roseman was able to trade a third-round pick for Jaelan Phillips in the first place because he knew that he had two additional third-round picks coming to him for Haason Reddick and Milton Williams. He traded one of those for Phillips, who had a good but not great half of a season in Philadelphia. Phillips was able to parlay that into a $30 million per year deal, which the Eagles were never going to match. Why? Because they knew that it would bring them ANOTHER compensatory third-round pick in 2027. Roseman added another compensatory pick to his treasure chest of assets. Now he was essentially able to cash that in, along with the compensatory pick that the Eagles received for the departure of Williams into a far more proven, Pro Bowl edge rusher in Jonathan Greenard. So this isn’t like a team is just throwing away their only third-round pick that is within the first 96 selections. The Eagles have these picks and this flexibility in the first place because of their ability to bring in players, maximize their skillsets and then let other teams overpay those players for their accomplishments in Philadelphia. It’s chess, not checkers. ♟️

Everyone loves praising Howie Roseman Hear me out… keep both your 3rd Round Picks and just resign Jaelan Phillips

@JeffKerrPHL I don’t remember such an exhausting offseason-it just started. The Eagles had some bad seasons and offseasons. The loss of Jerome Brown etc. Can we wait to see what players decide, free agency, and the draft. What happened to this Fanbase???

The #Eagles could lose Jeff Stoutland, Lane Johnson, and Landon Dickerson this offseason. We’ll see what Johnson and Dickerson decide to do, but losing two All-Pro caliber players (including a future Hall of Famer) will be very difficult to replace.

After 6 yrs, I finally got a tenure-track position & I now know that ea rejection was truly God’s redirection. When I signed my contract they said “welcome home” & when I shared my academic trauma, they offered healing energy. I now get to do what I love while healing at home💜💛

Y’all wanted a new offensive staff. Hope you realize that likely included the OL coach.

@DiBonaNFL Eagles offense underperformed all year. Fans call for change, now shocked it happened. People have to relax and let the offseason play out

@BrandonGowton Stout had a great career with the Eagles but change in the NFL like any other industry happens. People complained about the offense-rightfully now mad because they are making major changes. Can’t have it both ways

@ThePhillyPod I get the OC position is important-we saw that this yr BUT fans don’t know more than than the Lurie, Roseman etc. Fans don’t like decisions all the time and they are often wrong. Everyone got to chill. The offseason just started lol

Gonna be honest, pretty underwhelmed with the Eagles *reported* OC search so far. Remaining patient, hope to see Kliff Kingsbury and Joe Brady in the mix soon.

@FB_FilmAnalysis Counter- 1) the offseason just started; 2) the JH convo never accounts for him better only regressing; 3) whatever happens with AJ, Howie always has a plan; 4) Jalen isn’t Geno S. and 5) Eagles still have more offensive talent than most teams

Coaching Jalen Hurts, especially with his reduced running and less tush push effectiveness, isn’t easy and potentially losing A.J. Brown takes away a huge element of what made them successful
Jeff McLane@Jeff_McLane

With Mike McDaniel heading to the Chargers and signs increasingly pointing Brian Daboll toward the the Bills HC job or Titans OC job, as @DMRussini reported, the #Eagles would have missed out on two of their top OC candidates and two of the top names around the league. The Eagles met with McDaniel virtually, as @EJSmith94 said, per league sources. It wasn’t a formal interview, but it was an in-depth conversation. McDaniel and Daboll would have been given autonomy over the offense, sources said. There are a few remaining candidates that would have leverage to get authority, but that doesn’t mean Nick Sirianni won’t hand over the offense, depending upon the coach. The Eagles have cast a large net, one seemingly larger with McDaniel and Daboll unlikely, and thus the process will continue.

@LarryJWalker2 @JonnyPage9 even if they do go with a boring hire, howie just has to add more talent on the offense then.

Just gotta be real, I'm incredibly nervous about the Eagles OC hire and I'm very skeptical we are going to see monumental change. I don't see many positive signs right now. I hope things change!

@ProcessIsOver @JonnyPage9 NS isn’t perfect BUT name another coach in Eagles history with two SB appearances. The team had some rough yrs after Andy was fired. Fans need to relax, the offseason just started

@LarryJWalker2 @JonnyPage9 They did allow a repeat. They watched the same thing happen in 2023 and yet allowed the coach to keep his job. NS should be fired and they should be looking for a HC who knows offense out of the many candidates available.
