One day, the games will end. - No more bus rides. - No more practices. - No more game days. But the memories will stay forever: - The teammates. - The laughter. - The moments that made it all worth it. Cherish every second.

Every time I go to my parents’ house I indiscriminately take all the really old books and have never regretted it. Save your books.

Ryan Mutombo, Dikembe's son, pays tribute to his father on IG 🙏 "My dad will forever be my hero. Not because of his success — not because of the millions who, over the last four decades, have come to know and love him. My dad is my hero because he simply cared. He remains the purest heart I have ever known. At times, I thought of my dad as a super-human. The child in me would sigh to hear that this was never actually the case. My dad was a regular man who would stop at no lengths to honor the world, its people, and its creator. He loved others with every ounce of his being. That's what made him so accessible. That's what made him real. Dikembe Mutombo was salt and light, and today, on the 30th of September, 2024, he has been called to rest. I love you, Dad. Rest easy."

America would be better off if every high school student took a year to read through LOTR: They would learn: - How to live life with courage - The wild beauty of the world - The corruption of power - Small hands can do great deeds - There’s such a thing as providence

It’s a near statistical impossibility to outperform the market consistently & constantly. So it skill, luck or just a learning how to compete with idiots (to paraphrase the late, great Charlie Munger)? Here’s the take of a 9-trillion asset manager. When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Savior. John Newton
