Regardless of one's opinion of Alex Karp, he has made some compelling arguments (which Sanders should take seriously): - The US economy is currently growing almost exclusively through data center capital expansion. Without AI expansion, the US would have long since entered an economic recession. - China is hot on the heels of the US. A moratorium would mean the end of its AI lead – with all the enormous consequences (research, military). Under the current circumstances, there is no way for the US to implement a moratorium without causing itself significant harm.
