LASU NAMED 5TH BEST UNIVERSITY WITH THE MOST EMPLOYABLE GRADUATES IN NIGERIA
The prestigious Lagos State University has been named the 5th best university with the most employable graduates in Nigeria. The ranking was recently released by Stutern, a reputable skills development and job marketplace for graduates in Nigeria.
Stutern, ranking higher institutions in relation to the employability of their graduates, said 62.50% of graduates from LASU are employable, which ranks the institution as the 5th best in the country and the best among State universities.
Established in 1983, Lagos State University (LASU), under the leadership of Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, operates three major campuses, namely: Ojo, Ikeja, and Epe. The university was also ranked the best State University and the 9th best overall in Nigeria by the reputable AD Scientific Index ranking in 2023.
Furthermore, the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking adjudged LASU as the best university in West Africa for 2022 and 2023 bolstering the reputation of the institution as the 3rd most sought-after university by admission seekers in the 2023 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination.
The latest Stutern ranking is a testament to the top quality of teaching and research in the university that culminates in the training of market-ready graduates in the university.

On behalf of the university management, I thank the Almighty Allah for sparing our lives to witness this year's Eid El Fitri even as I extend my warm wishes for peace, prosperity, and blessings of the Almighty Allah upon every member of our community. About 30 days ago, we commenced the journey of the Holy month of Ramadan in earnest anticipation of God's blessings upon our individual lives, families, university, state, and nation. As we celebrate the festival of breaking the fast today, we can look back and appreciate His infinite mercies upon us. While expressing our gratitude, we must come together in unity and solidarity as a community to reaffirm our commitment to the values of empathy, kindness, and generosity that Ramadan instills in us. We must extend love and kindness to one another and forgive each other's shortcomings. Indeed, this, more than ever before, is a time to remember those in need and offer a hand of help to as many as we have the capacity to help. LASU VC CONGRATULATES MR. KAPPO SAMUEL ON HIS APPOINTMENT AS SSA TO GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, has received with delight, news of the appointment of a member of staff of the Lagos State University @kappozino, Mr. Samuel Olawale Kappo, as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu on Tertiary Education.
The governor announced Mr. Kappo's appointment during an interaction with students representatives on Tuesday, 5th March 2024.
Prof. Olatunji-Bello, on behalf of the entire university community, congratulates Mr. Kappo on his well-deserved appointment. She describes it as an eloquent recognition of his dedication, passion, and commitment to the betterment of students in tertiary institutions in the state. She expresses utmost confidence in his ability to robustly discharge the duties of the office of the Senior Special Assistant, going by his antecedents as a student leader and public servant.
She prays that God would grant him the wisdom to succeed and, in the process, pave the way for more young people to be equally elevated.
Mr. Kappo, a graduate of Computer Science, from the prestigious Lagos State University, was president of the Lagos State Students Union (LASUSU) in the 2016/2017 academic session, and later served as the Southwest coordinator of National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) between 2019 and 2021
He currently works as a systems analyst at the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) of Lagos State University.
