@DougTenNapel Oh... you lost the rights. I thought so. When I made your game for Gameboy Advance you weren't involved at all. I think I saw your business boss D Perry going down the escalator at e3. He seemed bummed or didn't care. Realize earlier Interplay had it mothballed, hard.

If EWJ goes public domain we will all be able to create stories with those characters. Until then, I can only make comics. Maybe some day, but I don't lose any sleep over it. It's too easy to create other stuff in the meanwhile. Just as fun, just not as famous.

Suppose that to publish a video game, you needed to submit your game to anonymous reviewers... all of them video game designers. The video game designers would review your game, and either reject it, or demand changes. And you'd need to satisfy them before you get your game published. Of course, people would tune their video games to please the other video game designers. Do you think that the games would be good? Well. Since the 1970s, science works this way.

@SquaredApe @georgebsocial Had to do with the Interface Adaptor(CIA Chip), was always on by default & took all inputs. That caused confusion for the board on loading/saving. Never knew about 'mini games' but makes sense because you had to control CIA chip in ASM which was not well known in the early years.

I have vivid memories of my C64 in the early 80s. I played lots of Infocom adventure games (Zork, Starcross, Planetfall, etc). I'd often get stuck on a puzzle and wander around typing "> Use whatever with whatever". You'd get some response quickly but It didn't work. Nothing new. Keep thinking. You knew you had hit upon something new when there was a slight pause after entering your prompt and there was disk activity. The games only cached in so much data at a time as the C64 had 64K right?. So a disk read meant that new data was coming!. New text to reveal to you. Often that was a success state for a puzzle! So in lulls between puzzles I'd often crave that little light appearing on the disk drive and await my treasure. #adventuregames #infocom
