A massive congratulations to our squad who attended the KUGB National Youth and Students championships over the weekend. Everyone displayed great spirit and attitude but a special congratulations must go to our Champions Luciano Zanuni and Alex Goskova! Full results to follow..

Yesterday saw members competing KUGB Shotokan Cup.All members fought well with two seniors medalling. Congratulations Ethan Armstrong,2nd Senior Mens Kumite & Caroline McGrath,2nd Senior Ladies Kumite. Both delivered solid performances narrowly missing out on golds #WeAreLeeds

Yesterday Leeds Shotokan held its first grading of 2022 with Sensei Billy Higgins. A fantastic day with everyone progressing to next part of the karate journey. Some fantastic performances & Sensei was greatly impressed with the standard. Well Done All. Keep up the great work. 👊🏻

Stavroula Angoura was awarded “Student of the Year”. Stavi trains incredibly hard, is dedicated, committed and leads our younger students by example. Stavi you are so deserving of this award, congratulations. #WeAreLeeds

On the back of a very successful competition year, Luciano Zanuni was awarded “Competitor of the Year”. Luciano has delivered consistent performances since returning to the matt following lockdown. Well Done Luci #WeAreLeeds

Serena Matyas Sari was awarded with the “Best Junior” award. Serena has had an incredible journey in such a short space of time, recently winning kata at the Northern Regions. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this rising star. Congratulations Serena #WeAreLeeds

There was only to be one “Clubman of the Year” and this was presented to John Timperley. John shows commitment, dedication and trains incredibly hard every session; and this is reflected in his karate. Well deserved clubman of the year. Congratulations John #WeAreLeeds
