Hence Peoria is in a different district from all the towns right across the river that are part of the Peoria metro area. 16 includes both East Peoria and Galena!

They had to connect Champaign to East St. Louis in order to have enough Democrat votes to make it a blue district. 175 miles apart. Otherwise the Republican rural voters outnumber them.

@TurtleTime911 @chadfelixg Depends on how big their towns are. That’s the thing about democratic elections. Sometimes the side you agree with wins, sometimes they lose. It is illegal, unconstitutional for any legal process to be based on race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, etc.

@chadfelixg It isn’t about race as much as race & community overlap. The districts being eliminated are predominantly Black districts. If a town is predominantly Black, shouldn’t they have someone from their community represent them or should it be someone from outside the community?

Black representation for... what? Preserve black voting power for... what? What would 'diluting,' the black vote cause? Be specific. What representation is required based on race alone? Why do black Americans need segregated districting in order to have a voice? Be. Specific.

@chadfelixg The thing no one is talking about is that throughout the South, blacks are far more integrated into rural/suburban areas, whereas in the north they tend to stay in cities. They are represented in both, just as we are. **unless you’re a Republican in Hellinois.

What do black Americans, as a group, need black representation in Congress to achieve in 2026 that wouldn't be accomplished by an Asian representative? There are a lot of hysterical assertions about need and deserve and require, but... for what?
