He actually hates that he likes that stroking to his head and ears, causing him to purr even more.
As well as the king, he did missed him, he was gone too long.

Vault leant back against the back of his throne and allows Lucas to climb back on and settle in getting comfortable. Inwardly, the king was pleased to see Lucas again and be able to spend this time with him. His hand does come down to brush along the top of his head and ears.

Vault’s head tilts back slightly when the clawed finger tip is placed under his chin. “Tch.” 💢 The king knew Lucas HAD a point. A cat is always gonna be a cat no matter how hard to try and train them. Lucas was no different. “I guess so,” he mumbled as his head turned away.

Vault leans forward on his throne and rubs his face in mild irritation before ordering for his servants to go up to his chambers and straighten up his room as well as replace the linens. Sitting back again, the king shakes his head at Lucas. “You cause me too much trouble…”
