I have been advocating for a nice raise to the standard deduction for years. With 80% of people living paycheck to paycheck, being able to keep another say few grand is huge. Such a low hanging fruit. Whereas that $ in the government’s hands is gone & we see nothing. It would also make taxes easier- less time messing around with trying to itemize deductions. I have bashed Cory a bunch before & this could just be for show… But just getting it more out into the open is nice to see… Although I would like these numbers raised a bit though ($50k single / $100k married) if not doubled ($75k/$150k).
