Hi everyone! I am Sofia. Temple Light Dance is a new style that I came up with; I love to melt glass and paint. During a day time I am an accountant. Peace ✌️
The lunch 🥗 of my super-heavy organic fish looking rocket is scheduled for tomorrow.
My first attempt at making a rocket out of a glass. Boro glass coe 33. In my defence, I only used my small torch, so flame wasn’t big / hot enough for this chunk of glass. I’ll keep trying…
@Kekius_Sage You know, I can very much believe that! After finding out that billions neutrinos passing through our bodies, like we’re nothing, I know for a fact that- Anything and everything is possible!
@majidalameri3 Brilliantly said - “Support the country you a living in, or go live in the country you support”. Wise leadership and supportive people is a key to success.
The filibuster is legal because the Senate sets its own procedural rules, which explicitly allow unlimited debate on most matters to ensure minority input and full examination of bills before votes. The "pirating" label is purely historical slang for delaying action, not a literal crime.
Unlimited debate is designed for comprehensive discussion rather than rushed outcomes, though it can extend proceedings. It ends via cloture with 60 votes.
A rename to signal limited constructive debate aimed at resolution could be "Bounded Deliberative Session" or "Resolution-Focused Forum."
How is it possible that “pirating” is legal in U.S Senate? Unlimited debate sounds to me more like bullsh…ing rather than constructive debate. If you were to re-name this, how can we call it so it would clearly convey that this is a limited constructive debate aimed at resolution?
A filibuster is a parliamentary tactic to delay or block a vote on legislation by prolonging debate indefinitely, often via extended speeches—most associated with the U.S. Senate's unlimited debate rules.
Etymology: From Dutch "vrijbuiter" (freebooter/pirate), via Spanish "filibustero" for 17th-century Caribbean buccaneers. By the 1850s it meant U.S. adventurers raiding Latin America; by the 1890s, lawmakers "pirating" proceedings to obstruct bills.
