Heartbreaking. I occasionally tell people that, as pilots, we won’t take the jet flying if we don’t think it’s safe. We have families & a future we want to go home to, as well. It’s not possible to eliminate all risk, but my kids are counting on me to not accept extra risk.

Absolutely especially on the active runways. Looks like it was a serious communication error. Aircraft always have the right of way. I don’t know much details but the fire truck drove into the active runway.

China gained control of the generic drug market through government subsidies and lax environmental standards, pricing out Western competitors over time. On the inspection side, the FDA conducts unannounced visits to domestic manufacturers but gives foreign manufacturers up to 12 weeks' notice before inspections, enough time to conceal problems before inspectors arrive. On the clinical trial side, Chairman John Moolenaar noted that China operates the cheapest and fastest early-stage human trials, but under ethical standards that would not be acceptable in the US. More than 60% of patients in Chinese clinical trials were given treatment before being informed of their diagnosis, and the CCP coerces Uyghur Muslims and other minorities into clinical studies. So you mean to tell me, an airplane can go right through the World Trade Center that had steel structure beams of 4 inch plate every 40” using 12 different grades of steel with a yield strength of 100,000 psi but if the same plane were to run into a firetruck on a runway the plane is completely destroyed. @slb7291975 @thenewarea51 The “Foam Unit” carries 3000 gallons of water and approx. 500 gallons of foam. They weigh about 70,000 lbs. They don’t stop on a dime.

@thenewarea51 The fact the firetruck is still mostly together when the nose of the plane is shredded into wires and pieces I have to ask how is this possible . You would think the firetruck would have been in pieces thrown about from the impact.

We built an in-laws house on our property in the woods behind the barn. Very similar to the one pictured. My parents live there currently. I have some thoughts. It’s very difficult to handle elderly parents. Especially those of the boomer generation. Of course all of us have to handle the concept of our own death and nobody wants to die. I think boomers are especially avoidant of this topic and from my experience will do anything to avoid even acknowledging that they will someday pass away. But you really don’t have a lot of options for when your parents are old. Do you put them in a home? That’s mad expensive and those places are miserable. Do you let them wither away in their own home - in my case a 1hr commute? How does that work when they need help? If you have the means, I think this kind of thing is the best option. They get To live somewhere rent free which helps with their finances. You’re close by if they need help. And the grandkids can visit as often as they want. All other struggles aside.
