NYT: In the last four months alone, immigration officers have fired on at least nine people in five states and Washington, D.C. All of the individuals targeted in those shootings were, like the woman killed on Wednesday, fired on while in their vehicles. In each case, officials have claimed that the agents fired in self-defense, fearing they would be struck by the vehicle. This is the most comprehensive and BEST video I have seen on the #ICE assassination in Minnesota. These MASKED ICE criminals executed an American citizen, in broad daylight who posed absolutely NO threat to them. God bless the young woman who captured this video. I don't care about her politics, she is incredibly courageous and has done critical service to this nation. SHAME, SHAME , SHAME on them and @realDonaldTrump his lawless, criminal administration. My heart breaks for the family of the victim.

My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away. I am calling for Wilmer’s immediate release from NWIPC—he has NO criminal convictions, he poses no threat to the community, and he urgently needs appropriate medical care since ICE is denying him the treatment he requires.

ICE should not be free to inflict this kind of pain and suffering on innocent immigrants. This doesn’t make anyone safer. Republicans must join Democrats in calling for oversight, accountability, and serious restraint. opb.org/article/2025/1…

Honestly, Lizza is pretty transparent about his motivation being revenge. It's why screenshots are going around; people understand the bad karma of enthusiastically participating in spreading the story. But there are several problems with this high-handed morally self-righteous tone about ethics in journalism (?!?!) from Nuzzi (?!?!) One is, inescapably: She did those things! Lizza does not appear to be making this up. She did those things and those things are very bad. The second problem is that her outrage doesn't explain why she thinks she has license to write about what happened, but she doesn't want HIM to write about what happened to him and what he saw. It also doesn't explain why she thinks she can monetize it through a book deal, but he's not allowed to monetize it through Substack subscriptions. There is more than one person involved in a story like this. It's incredible -- as a journalist! -- to think that those other people won't, or can't give their own perspectives. The narcissism is overwhelming.

Olivia Nuzzi is objectively a disgrace to the profession but at least some of the outrage should be directed to Vanity Fair’s new editor Mark Guiducci, who is averaging a scandal a month a few months in and hasn’t gotten nearly enough negative attention for it

If this is true ?? She should have been fired and never rehired. I have higher standards for journalists. You should too. It’s a privilege to be entrusted by the public.

@CaitlinPacific Terrible take. I would hold any male journalist to the same standards. Sleeping with sources is up there with plagiarism on what is a very short list of unforgivable journalistic sins. Why is she working at a magazine ? Does VF have zero standards ?
