I firmly believe not every situation needs to have closure. Sometimes you have to be comfortable being the villain in someone’s story for your own peace of mind. This entire conversation was not only a waste of time, but also a textbook level display of gaslighting.

She clearly never respected him. The recoupling speech was disingenuous as was the letter exchange because she’s singing his praises in both and claiming she wanted to continue the journey with him, and at the same time sees him as a coward and a lame loser, especially in comparison to Carl who she has known for far less time.
